Well for those of you that haven't heard...yes it is indeed! Little Leland Dwayne was born on July 3rd. I was scheduled for inducement that morning. After only an hour on the inducement medication, pitocin, my doctor came to check my progress. He was not happy to learn that our little man had turned himself sideways in utero. This could cause significant problems should he punch or kick hard enough to break my water. That would act as a broken vaccum seal pulling him out sideways. Which in turn could cause any number of problems including but not limited to, broken bones or fatality.
He was delivered via emergency c-section at 12:14 pm. Just in time for lunch (which was good because if you've ever had a baby, you know how you are starving by the time it's all done!). He weighed 9lbs 7ozs. and was 21 inches long. Now that's a big baby! I'm kinda glad I didn't have to push that one out! His big sister was 9lbs 3ozs and she was a breeze to get out but I don't think I would care to have tried it with him! He came out screaming his head off pissed as all get out! Thank God he had a healthy set of lungs! He scored a 9 on the test thingy the do. Only because (according to his nurse) they never give a perfect 10. Hmm...I wonder why that is? I guess they think that the baby could ALWAYS be doing something better lol!
We came home 2 days later and are doing well. Recovery has not been easy and was in fact extremely painfull in the beginning. They have me on a very weak (imo) pain killer but it does it's job sufficiently enough I guess. I've wheaned myself down to about 2 a day now instead of the 5 or 6 I was taking. However, my body def. lets me know when it's time for another one! I seem to be healing well on the outside at least. Jay helps me with showering still as I am unable to see the incision itself due to massive swelling of my lower abdomen. I had my tubes tied at the same time so I have a double recovery so to speak. And it has not been easy, as I already stated. It gets better everyday though. I AM very please with the amount of weight I've lost. I don't have actual numbers yet and I won't look Friday when they weigh me at the doc office. I will wait until the 6 week period and THEN I'll look. I know that I'm still retaining water and I'm still swollen, so my weight right now will not be completely accurate. However, my stomach is much flatter than it was pre-pregnancy, I am very happy to report! I can't wait to hit the gym and tone up a little bit!
I hope ya'll haven't missed me too much! With the hectic new schedule, I can't guarantee I'll get a new blog posted everyday but I will try for at least once a week! I have many other things that have been added to my daily routine now and it will just get more busy when I start back to work. If it wasn't for Jay having the night shift tonight I wouldn't be on right now lol! I even let him have a nice long nap this afternoon in preparedness for this shift! He works all weekeng though and I have Leland all night so Jay can get his sleep for work, and I have lil' man all day as well so he gets me back lol! He is such a mamas boy though and it's hard for anyone else to calm him down anyway lol! Well bloggers, I've filled you all in for the most part! I'll try to have some uploaded pics on my photo album for ya'll to check out by tomorrow. No guarantees but I'll give it my best shot!
